We got to speak to Vicki, a photographer from Snowflake Creations who had the honour of photographing Claudia and Tudi’s Wedding in Canberra on the 21st of March 2015. We got to ask Vicki about what she enjoyed, Claudia’s favourite part of the day and what made it so special.
1. First name of the couples?
Claudia and Tudi
2. Your role in the submission? What did the lead up involve?
Photographer. I (Vicki) went to high school with Claudia, so we had known one another for a long time, however not all that well. When she contacted me to ask if we could photograph their wedding we were very touched and of course excited. It’s so lovely to see someone you know get married and to be privileged enough to capture it for them.
4. What was the inspiration behind the day? Or the brief.
Claudia told me:
“There wasn’t any theme really. We just wanted to keep it real simple and elegant. We wanted the night be fun and relaxed. And everyone really had a fun time.”
A little big about the day from the photographers:
“Claudia and Tudi’s wedding was such a relaxed, fun filled day. Tudi and Claudia are such bright, fun personalities, Claudia’s hearty laugh is so infectious. We honestly didn’t stop laughing until we got home at 1am! Following the ceremony and some relaxed photos by the lakeside, we were treated to an absolute stunner of a sunset across the lake from the Boat House, the golden light streaming in to where everyone had just sat down for entrees.”
“Claudia and Tudi met while both living in London, when late one evening Claudia asked Tudi for the time while waiting at a bus stop. When it was time for Claudia to return to Australia after two years in the UK, Tudi, who grew up in Italy, followed her across the seas. Every single wedding speech was a beautiful tip of the hat to how wonderful Tudi is for taking the leap. Starting a new life in a new country half way around the world, and speaking a language he didn’t previously.”
“The party really got started when Claudia threw the bouquet and it hit the light shade – petals flying in all directions! The dance moves, classic Italian love songs and unwavering energy of this wedding party made for some hilarious dance floor photos!”
5. Location of shoot or event?
Canberra, ACT. Ceremony was at Saint Matthews Catholic Church in Page, and the reception was at The Boathouse restaurant.
6. Event date
21 March 2021
7. Who was the photographer?
Jacques and Vicki of Snowflake Creations
8. Are there any special details or stories we should know about your submission that make it extra special?
From Claudia:
“The lolly bar that our family friend Karen had done for us. It blew us away!! It was amazing!! We loved it because it was nothing like we had ever seen before. It was so detailed and just gorgeous. Everything was all matched and perfectly put together.”
Her favourite moment:
“My favourite moment was definitely walking down the aisle with my dad to be with my future husband. Such a magical moment, one that all girls think about their whole lives, it is so significant. The symbol of growing up committing yourself to this person who you love. But being walked down with the man who has taught you so much and the first man you ever loved. It was so emotional.”
